Keynote: How Will We Respond to the A.I. Revolution?

The A.I. Revolution is here. For some, it’s exciting. For others, it feels terrifying. Still others feel baffled and confused by it. Many of us feel a mix of all three emotions. But one thing is clear. It’s here and it’s not going away. In this keynote, we explore how we might adapt and change as we navigate the new terrain of an AI world. We explore the human skills students will need in a world of smart machines. Ultimately, we’ll be reminded of the hope and humanity we continue to have in a time of epic change.

Keynote workshop: Differentiated Learning with AI

Machine learning can help make differentiated instruction more feasible. In this session, we explore how we can use AI tools to design structured language supports, differentiate texts for reading instruction, and provide templates for scaffolding among students with learning differences. We also discuss how you, as an educator, can take the initial AI-generated supports and customize them based on your knowledge of students. AI cannot replace the relationship that students have with teachers. However, it can save educators time so they can craft more meaningful and relevant differentiated instruction for all learners

Nearpod makes designing and implementing standards-based formative and summative assessments dynamic and impactful. Using a wide variety of activities, instructors can easily keep track of individual and whole group learning throughout a lesson or design a more comprehensive summative assessment at the end of the learning cycle. Data from both types of assessments can be seen both in the moment as well as in post session reports. Not a beginner session. A basic understanding of the Nearpod platform required.
